Mastertronic and Alkatronic Saltwater intake Hose Filter placement
Keeping the Filter Clean and off the bottom of the Sump is not always easy when using the Mastertronic and Alkatronic hose filter at the end of the hose.
So there are to issues here:
- Placement of the saltwater intake hose
- keeping it clean and off the bottom of the sump
1) Please make sure you place the filter in a part of the sump that is quiet and not surging with water or bubbles.
(middle of the sump recommended ) Never into the Front chamber as to turbulent ,
Never into the Return chambers as we mostly dose there.
2) When you weigh the Hose filter down and it sit on the bottom of the sump detritus can get in
and stop clean water coming in. So we want to make sure we collect the premium Water to test and
that is in the middle of the water column .
So to do this you will need:
- Scissors
- Old Tube Holder
Cut 7cm off the bottom of the tube and place filter in-between the two halves and then as the pic below, just pop the
end piece in through the tube holder to the water.
