Mastertronic Needle Issues

Mastertronic Needle Issues can cause bad accuracy?

Some times we find the accuracy of results we are getting from the MT are off the list below are worth checking even though you have put new needles in.

  • Blow Test- On the vent needle (back one) can get blocked from time to time from very small particles of silicone from the vial which intern will stop
the main needle from drawing up the correct amount of fluid for a test.  Take the vent needle out and Blow air through it and check its not blocked.
Even a new needle can have restricted  air flow due to the end not cutting clean so its worth checking those to.

  • New Needles - with all new needles attach to a syringe and draw up some RO water and check flow. Sometimes the needles are cut and a metal bur can block flow.

  • Silicone in the vials- When you see the silicone on the vials starting to deteriorate  this can also cause issues as some of the regents are very corrosive, and can break off
minute pieces that can get stuck in the vent needle. If you turn your vial a 1/4 turn after filling it will give a new entry point and will not cause the silicone to breakup.

  • It recommended to change your needle according to the needle count in the app please do this s the needle will blunt after so many entries.
